Discovering a raised floor in the dwelling enabled the living space to be increased by 3.2 m3 by opening up a rectangle to enhance the spatial perception. The rest of the cavity was used as storage space. The materials for this project were chosen from the elements found on-site: the concrete floor tiles were found hidden under a plastic covering; the staircase was built using parts of the beams which had served as support for the raised floor. For the new wall covering Okoume wood panelling was used (which was painted white on the exterior wall and left untreated in other sections). The excavated floor was covered with wood.
