Any construction is more sustainable provided it involves less production processes, less transportation and less construction work. When working on pre-existing structures, any activities involving leaving the plumbing and wiring exposed, keeping the original surfaces uncovered and maintaining the temporary elements used in construction as definitive elements become in themselves an approach to sustainability. By eliminating these conventional processes, both material transportation and the amount of construction waste are reduced.
