The courtyard-house by Tania Concko Architects & Urbanists is characterized by a large central free space around which the units are laid out. In this case the bay is protected, both on the interior and on the exterior, by intermediate spaces -the access galleries in the courtyard and the private galleries on the facade. These spaces act as heat regulators. The site falls within the Terres Neuves Regeneration Plan, a 3.6 ha urban master plan on the outskirts of Bordeaux.
