The new water treatment plant recovers the visual, hydrological and ecological links which were lost when the first facilities were opened in 1989. The structure recreates the original landscape of the area and tries to bridge the gap produced by the numerous infrastructures which make their presence felt. The roof is a thick living layer which contains both the water treatment facilities and the offices of the company which manages them. This layer is opened up to allow for the circulation e.

The transformation of a former power station into the Bordeaux House of Architecture was based, according to its architects FABRE/deMARIEN, on the co-existence of both existing and new elements. Traces of former occupancy on the walls were preserved while new elements were painted white. Six months after moving in, the client – a group of institutions made up of the College of Architects, the House of Architecture, the Architects Training Centre and the Architecture et Commande Publique.

La temática de la BAQ2014 “De la casa a la ciudad, de la ciudad a la casa” confirma sus primeros conferenciantes, entre ellos: Gyaw-Gyaw (Tailandia) organización constituida por nueve integrantes los mismos que viven en el pueblo de Noh Bo, en la frontera entre Tailandia y Birmania. Alexander Brodsky (Rusia) arquitecto y escultor, considerado uno de los mejores arquitectos rusos, particularmente por la arquitectura de papel, la cual fue una respuesta crítica a la arquitectura rusa estandarizada que había generado edificios que invadían el ambiente con una aestética comunista.
