"I would like to address the subject by framing the question [Organization or Design?] as ‘organization and design’, so that it takes into account people, process and products.
PEOPLE
At the beginning, one of the first impulses of the practice was to depart from pre-formed ideas of what engineers do. We were very conscientious to set a scene and communicate a culture, one which still exists in the organization today. “People, product, profit” is one of our office mantras. No separation exists between these three things; they are one and all. We take pride in adding pedagogy to practice, and acting as a bridge to take both into construction. The culture then demands that we
stay single-minded about our discipline and create a collective characteristic of the practice that attracts and delivers a particular product..."
