VIDEO. Restoration of Tudela-Culip natural environment. Franch, Ardèvol. Catalonia. Spain
November 23, 2012
The Cabo del Creus, 45 km away from the border between France and Spain, is a rocky formation which runs down from the Pyrenees mountain range to the Mediterranean Sea. Following the declaration of Cabo de Creus as a Nature Park, an environmental restoration and access re-design project was commissioned which after successive modifications led to the complex being completely demolished and the recovery of the land relief and original ecosystem, which had suffered greatly from the effects of tourist activity.
a+t magazine 39-40, Reclaim, collects some of the actions in the restoration works, such as:
- Extracting and recycling invasive flora
- Stabilishing land using hydro-seeding
- Road and path layout in a natural setting
- Creating a landscape route
- Demolition and building waste management
