Projects for the adaptable city (5)

Kristine Jensens. Nicolai Cultural Centre Courtyard. Kolding. Denmark

Europan 12 proposes to explore the question of time with a view to making the city more adaptable. One of the sites proposed by the organization is Don Benito (Spain).

If you are working on a project for this site, have a look at the project Nicolai Cultural Centre Courtyard by Kristine Jensens in Kolding, Denmark. The interiors of the Kolding block are green havens with little activity. Kristine Jensens takes advantage of a former carpark in the heart of these blocks to introduce public intensity. The new space functions in symbiosis with the cultural centre which it depends on. Against a backdrop of Corten steel, some areas have been set aside for specifi c uses, while the rest remain open to the generation of spontaneous activities.

See more pages of the project published in Strategy Public.
