Frigiliana. Málaga. Spain / 8 House. Copenhagen. Denmark
This image shows the influence that the architecture of a small town in Málaga called Frigiliana has had on the design of the 8 House housing complex by Bjarke Ingels. As he himself confessed to Javier Mozas in an interview for El País, the architect was trapped in the stepped streets, in the parapets and wondered at the outdoor lifestyle of this town in Málaga’s Axarquía region.
The idea in 8 House is a landscape subvertion by the introduction of an artificial mountain in the flat plain of Copenhagen’s extension.
