Green Belt. CEA Centro de Estudios Ambientales. Vitoria-Gasteiz. Spain
February 20, 2014
The creation of the Green Belt has led to 47 kilometres of paths being installed for walkers and cyclists. There is a main 30 kilometre route which links up six parks: Armentia, Olarizu, Salburua, Alegria, Zadorra and Zabalgana. The treatment of this section is mostly like that of an urban park with a low level of facilities, lacking irrigation and lighting. The surfaces are compacted all-in-one except in areas prone to flooding. The aim was to reduce execution and maintenance costs.
