Projects for the adaptable city (2)

Aldayjover. Saragossa tram. Spain

Europan 12 proposes to explore the question of time with a view to making the city more adaptable. One of the sites proposed by the organization is Aalborg (Denmark).

If you are working on a project for this site, have a look at the project of the Saragossa tramway by Aldayjover. The new infrastructure crosses the southern half of the city and the public spaces which run alongside have been redesigned. Following an approach which treats the downtown area and the outskirts the same way,  pedestrians, cyclists, cars and public transport have all been integrated. Tram stops along the route protect from the intense sun and winds inherent to the city’s climate, integrating all installations into their structure (lights, traffic lights, street lighting and telecommunications), freeing the new platform from visual noise.

See more pages of the project published in Strategy Space.
