MVRDV, Blanca Lleó. Social housing in Sanchinarro. Madrid
September 08, 2010
This social housing project is an alternative solution to the city block. It is proposed as more of a building system than as an individual building. The lattice-like set intersperses 30 built volumes and 30 empty spaces. These empty spaces are intermediate spaces for neighbourhood life. The volumes contain one-, two- and three-bedroom housing units and high-rise patios are common spaces open to perceptual cross views in all directions.
