Modostudio. Kilpailuohjelma. Lohja. Finland
June 24, 2010
Finland currently has one of the largest ecological footprints per capita in the world and it is faced with the challenge of overcoming its environmental deficit. In NEXT. COLLECTIVE HOUSING in progress we include two proposals for recent competitions in this country, organised with the intention to increase density and intensity in its urban fabric. This project for the city of Lohja develops two blocks in the city centre with blocks of flats which are built above plinths of businesses and public services. The proposal thus intensifies the use of free spaces facing an inanimate landscape, typical of modern Finnish urban planning, of disperse blocks of flats in the forest that surrounds it.
