ENSA Nantes in Madrid

Last week we guided the students of the Nantes ENSA  (School of Architecture) through part of their study trip to Madrid.

The tour included the new urban developments in the outskirts of the capital (Vallecas, Sanchinarro and Carabanchel), of great pedagogical value, as they plainly and simply show the do-nots of urban planning, while being a showcase for some of the best examples of recent Madrilean architecture.

Besides the latest projects of public housing we include in HoCo or Dbook, we visited the lavish Distrito C, by Rafael de la Hoz, and two classics of the 20th Century, like the Gimansio Maravillas, by Alejandro de la Sota, or the Teologado de San Pedro Mártir, by Miguel Fisac.
