The urbanistic setting had basiaclly two intentions. The first one is a topological reinterpretation of the perimeter block. The perimeter block is cutted, leading to passages and views. By cutting it, the perimeter block becomes an ‘open one’. Together with the topological situation this leads to two different squares and accesses: an ‘urban’ one on the level of the city including a parking lot and a ‘rural’ one on the higher level. The ensemble was built on a former industrial zone that resembles the shape of a banana. The shape of the industrial zone is defined by the former course of the train tracks and the street.

The second intention of the urban setting was to follow or highlight the edges of this banana shape by assembling the volumes nonparallel on the borders of this parcel. The motive of non-parallelism reappears like a red string in different variations of the floor plans of the four modules and the silo.
