The title of the series IS THIS RURAL? calls into question the identity of most of the territory, which is not occupied by cities, that out there to what we traditionally called countryside.
Are there still differences between the urban and the rural, or are the limits
increasingly blurred?
How is architectural design affected by this absence of precise identities?
The first issue identifies pieces of very diverse scales that share the desire to create architecture for those who inhabit the countryside, whether human or non-human.
The second volume is a reflection on the city-countryside binary vision, as opposing scenarios. It includes a timeline of the events that took place in these three territories, over the last 250 years, displayed synchronously.
The third and final issue of the series focuses on the intermediate territory, the most indeterminate in terms of uses, the setting where the most complex situations occur and where the mix of uses forms part of its identity.
