At street level this railway viaduct was a barrier, full of derelict sheds and warehouses. The new retail front has the area buzzing with activity and ensures the permeability of the infrastructure with frequent wide and safe access points to the pedestrian viaduct and pedestrian walkways between the neighbourhoods it used to separate.
Using new materials in the interior space has been restricted with the aim to safeguard the potential of the arches. Tenants of the premises can choose from several options for interior layouts proposed by the architects.
