When land is scarce, the scant free space remaining becomes extraordinarily valuable. Its sometimes awkward location has to become an opportunity to deliver public programmes in unexpected spaces to the city. Their residual character saved them from planning in their day and now they can be used to correct deficiencies.

In this project, the sporting and games areas replace the ground level car park which occupied the roof of the train tracks on the train route through the new neighbourhood Theresienhöhe.
