Finalist for 2013 Mies van der Rohe Award, 2013 American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Honor Award, 2012 ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards (Public Facilities category)
All the furniture objects in this project were brought in from different countries and function as a set of elements which invite the users to let themselves be transported to other places. Instead of imposing a purely Danish design they become a showcase for other cultures in a neighbourhood where some 60 nationalities coexist. This helps to create a feeling of belonging among a highly diverse population.
Superkilen, by BIG, Topotek1 and Superflex was published in a+t magazine number 38, entitled Strategy and Tactics in Public Space.
