The 130 x 130 m block, one of the largest in the urban-plan, is divided into four sections by pedestrian roads. The commercial spaces in the plinth have zigzagging façades above which the housing block 'floats' independently. The circulation routes, that slice through the volume, prevent a massive, wall-like appearance. They widen at their intersection, forming a plaza that is marked by a small 10-floor tower on stilts.

Based on indicators such as floor area ratio, population density, building volumes, heights and uses, a comparative analysis giving examples of dense living was attained. With this forthcoming series of posts we would like to show some of the most significant examples contained in the book.
