Se trata de dos cintas de aglomerado asfáltico de 1,2 m de ancho pintadas con resinas de color es vivos. capas layers ROUTES ROOMS ACTIVITIES Microsoft Corporation, Navteq, Blom, 2008 The design of Str eet A takes advantage of the construction of the new metr o viaduct to turn it into an urban road. Under the bridge slabs, a 2,600 metr e-long urban pr omenade has been planned. It will have a two-way cir cuit that will make use of the flat, straight, shaded and cover ed space to allow for walking, running, skating, cycling, etc., understood to be sports rather than simply going from one place to another . Ther e will be two strips of asphalt mixtur e, 1.2 m wide and painted with brightly colour ed resins. Along the central reservation below the bridge, a pavement marked every 2.5 m with numerical refer ences every 100 metr es that allow users to measur e distances. Coinciding with each numerical point, a 25 m waiting and rest space is reserved, with the incorporation of benches, bicycle parking, litter bins, fountains, pedestrian crossings, as well as the entrances to the metr o stations on Str eet A. Besides the pedestrian route under the elevated tram crossing, the pr oject also includes the impr ovement of roads for vehicular traffic and pedestrian crossings and relocates bus stops. The new pavements wer e designed to accommodate a lar ge amount of vegetation and ar e done in gr ey concr ete paving stones. On the first str etch of the central reservation, wher e the viaducts ar e distanced and wher e natural light is possible, the planting of low maintenance vegetation is pr oposed to of fset the har dness of the concr ete elements. At the crossr oads new beds of grass, base shrubs for most of the existing trees and new trees to privatise and give shade to the rest ar eas will be created. On roundabouts, trees recover ed from the construction of the viaduct have been reserved, and a new flower bed will occupy the outer strip of pavement. Four metr o stations ar e spr ead out along the path, located on the centr e of the central reservation, with a length of 85 m and a thr ee-floor height. To avoid a visual interruption at pedestrian level, the lower floor will be cladded in transpar ent glass. In addition, the inside of each station will give continuity to the pavement of the central reservation, wher e material, lines and colour will be respected. The park’s surfaces that are covered in vegetation are integrated in the urban weft: large fields planted with a disperse population of trees serve as a base to the different activity areas or are used as rest and meeting areas. The roofs of the buildings to be built on the premises will also be covered in a layer of vegetation that will camouflage them inside the park. A system of transverse roads allows one to cross the park from east to west, a connection to two parallel north-south roads that link the new neighbourhoods to the rest of the city. The parking network on the outside of the perimeter ensures access to pedestrian routes and bicycle paths inside the park. The landscaping project recovers the original network of canals that ran through the area and uses them to draw the layout of the new public space. These waterways will be connected to the other urban canals and are the supporting ecological infrastructure of the new natural habitat. Three new neighbourhoods will be created around the park: a university district, a cultural neighbourhood and a residential district. Inside the park, a convention centre will go across the plot and a conference hall, two hotels, a transport interchange, a shopping centre, an underground car park and a tower of varied uses will be associated with it. Lastly, a panoramic tower on the south end of the park will allow visitors to enjoy views of the park and the city.
