Integrating the existing. Rail tracks

The incorporation of pre-existing elements into the project does not just keep the memory of the location alive. Integrating infrastructures, buildings or furniture also implements the plan or the layout of the spaces and legitimizes many decisions. Bringing found objects back to life, when it is worth it recycling them, means keeping costs down and reducing waste production.

At Clifton Hill, some sections of rail tracks have been preserved and filled in with railway ballast, where native herb species grow.
