Project published in Strategy and Tactics in Public Space
The increase in rail traffic on one of the railway lines linking Melbourne city centre with the northern suburbs made it necessary to double the capacity leading to the installation of a new railway line running parallel. The historic structure has been preserved and restored. This line duplication served to bring about the regeneration of the space alongside the infrastructure. The project includes environmentally upgrading the railway corridor and introducing new uses. Furthermore, the crossing areas have been renewed and the circulation for pedestrians and cyclists in the surroundings improved.
