At a+t we promote the conversion of obsolete structures as part of the necessary infill and regeneration of the existing fabrics. In Density is Home we present several cases of regeneration in large housing complexes built based on the precepts of Modern Movement, mainly focussed on the renewal of the skin of these buildings. Elsewhere the former buildings have undergone full renovation, after which only the skin remained, to be integrated into newly built complexes. This first example of recycling is one which goes beyond all the others: the former supermarket in this low-density neighbourhood changes its use and becomes a compact building of 5 dwellings leaving little trace of its former aspect. All these dwellings benefit from the large dimensions of the former retail structure and are developed on four levels. Each dwelling has its own street access and a differentiated garden.
