Density is Home echoes the types of city -dispersed, expansive, modern, the core of the city and the recycled city- where we live today through 37 projects on collective housing.
Type 1: The dispersed city.
The dispersed city gobbles up land and requires very expensive infrastructures. Its success lies in the low costs of converting agricultural land in a low density habitat. However, this type of city, apart from being unsustainable, is often exclusive and it generates an archipelago of bland fragments, of specialised islands lacking in diversity. We are interested in operations taking place in these low density areas which go against the principles of this model*.
