Carnicero, Vila, Virseda. Matadero Unit 16. Madrid. Spain

Carnicero, Vila, Virseda. Matadero Unit 16. Madrid. Spain

Incorporating a system of steel tilting doors, located on two floors, transforms the former Unit 16 of the Madrid Matadero into a multi-purpose space. The set of doors enclose a rectangular space which facilitates the independent use of this area in regard to the rest of the unit. One of the options is to have a neutral void completely isolated from the original building, appropriate for implementing installations and screenings. Once the doors are open, they link up with the remaining space giving optimum flexibility.
