A new vertical installations shaft runs around this old industrial building, freeing up the rest of the floor from service shafts. The Anton Building is a listed industrial building constructed in 1928 by the company Philips. Along with another twin building, Gerard –in memory of the two brothers Anton and Gerard Philips– it forms a strip close to downtown Eindhoven which is undergoing radical transformation. There are shared spaces in the building such as storerooms.

The building was built in the period between the wars and was a working warehouse and distribution centre until the 1970s. In 1990 it was converted into offices. The original metal support structure remained intact as did the sawtooth glazed roof. The work involved simplifying the already refurbished building spaces so as to outline their aesthetic and functional qualities. The interior geometry imposed by the layout of the structural grid has been respected and the space has been divided up .
