Museum Plaza rethinks conventional attitudes towards property development. Culture is placed physically and spiritually at the project’s center.

Filmic urban space: around, over and through multifaceted spatial layers, is one of the central aims of this Hybrid Building complex sited adjacent to the old city wall of Beijing.

How can we go beyond the traditional perimeter block but still stay within the letter of the building code?

The singularity of the city block and its current configuration have created a plot that all of the back patios and centres of buildings with up to four storeys can pour into. The objective of the proposal is to reestablish that interior to create a uniform and complete block.

The Mountain Dwellings are the 2nd generation of the VM Houses (same client, same size and same street). The program, however, is 2/3 parking and 1/3 living.

The program includes 118 apartments to sell, 50 to rent for seniors, 100 units for elderly people and 48 intensive care rooms. Therefore, the large diversity in housing types interaction between different age groups.

The program of this mixed-use centre is divided in four blocks: block 1 with four towers containing higher standard living; block 2 with three lower towers for the eco-hotel and apartments with halftime hotel service; block 3 with three volumes for a gallery and block 4 with four boxes for an art movie cinema.

The purpose of the project was to create a real vertical mix in order to optimise and improve each function of this typical urban program.

The only materials in this project that interest us are the plants. The rest of the materials are obligatory, the metal mesh to hold up the plants and let them climb, the prefabricated concrete slabs of the structure and window closures, the glass on the facade to be able to enjoy the views of the greenery and the highest amount of light possible, and finally the continuous rubber floors.

Ailsa Street is a 4.7 hectare site in the lower Lea Valley in East London that became isolated from Poplar when the A12 road was created in the 1960’s. Once cut off from the surrounding urban fabric, the site has become increasingly treated as a back, occupied by scrap dealers, refuse recycling and fly tippers.

The student’s dormitory is built above an existing parking for parisian public buses. It houses 350 students in individual flats.

How can you combine the large scale qualities of an urban waterfront with the intimacy of the human scale?

The project consists of 180 residential units in a run-down suburb of the satellite town of Luton. The brief asks how flats could be as desirable as houses for families in a high-density suburban scheme.

A whole neighbourhood of Eindhoven, Bloemenbuurt Zuid, is obsolete and going to be demolished: the built tissue is in poor conservation state and the housing typologies are not fitting today’s dissimilar family sizes needs.
